On Friday, February 21, at 7:30 pm I’ll be joining my friend Alison Hicks for a reading and book signing at Moore Books, an indie bookshop that opened last fall in Havertown. Alison leads the Greater Philadelphia Wordshop Studio, and I participated in her writing workshop for about 5 years. I’ll read from Mischief & Metaphors (and one other local essay), and Alison will read from her just-published book of poems, Homing. We’re both delighted to have a new indie bookstore in our neighborhood. Join us if you can, or drop in another time to browse in this welcoming shop.

This spring, I’ll once again be teaching a course in travel writing for Main Line School Night. Registration is now open, and the class will begin March 25 and run for 5 weeks. This course provides examples of strong nonfiction travel narratives and offers participants the opportunity to draft their own travel stories and get feedback on them.
