In the midst of what feels like a never-ending heatwave, it’s nice to look ahead to the fall. In October, I will once again be teaching a 4-week course in travel writing for Main Line School Night. Sessions will be from 6:45 to 8:15 pm on Tuesday evenings at Lower Merion High School, from October 8 through October 29.
Participants will be offered varied readings and a range of assignments each week. These are short assignments, aimed at adding layers of knowledge and insight to each travel narrative. We’ll look at different structures for travel essays and strategies for publication (online and in print). Participants will have opportunities to share drafts in class and get feedback on a work-in-progress after the course ends.
